WebMay 6, 2024 · It’s 4mg/kg, so a single dose is 20mg gabapentin. A total of 40mg a day. Still very low though. I just talked to another FIP kitty owner who’s using gabapentin and she said her dose was 50mg once a day for her 6lbs cat. Half the weight of mine and more than double the single dose. Will definitely talk to my vet tomorrow and ask to up the numbers. WebAnyone familiar with administering Gabapentin (liquid) My Clarke man unfortunately isn’t feeling well. He’s a very aggressive cat (but very loved and well taken care of) and we couldn’t do the needed tests today because he was very worked up/ vicious. My cats vet prescribed it, because it’s always extremely difficult taking her to the vet or grooming appointments. I gave her 1 pill (first time) with her wet food 6 hours ago to take her for grooming and she’s still so out of it. WebHi all - our cat was recently diagnosed with feline hyperesthesia. We are currently trying gabapentin but are seeing no improvement. Our vet mentioned that we could try Solensia injections. From my understanding, this is a new arthritis treatment and using it for feline hyperesthesia would be an “off-label” use. WebOnce there, he was completely back to his normal self (exploring, enjoying pets, walking around). The vet changed his medication to Gabapentin 50mg 3x daily and Kepra 3x daily and told me to consult a veterinary neurologist.
