So as you say a 1.5mm pitch x 3 starts is 4.5 in your G76. The z 'stepover' position is just the pitch of the thread. So a thread called out on a drawing as M16 x 1.5mm 3 start, would be a step over of 1.5mm in Z for each G76 line and the feed in your G76 would be 4.5
