Web29 apr. 2024 · Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine. It is taken to relieve itching. The most common side-effect is drowsiness. This may affect your ability to drive. About hydroxyzine Hydroxyzine belongs to a group of medicines known as sedating antihistamines. It is used to relieve itching caused by some skin conditions, such as nettle rash ( urticaria ). Webpatients in hot weather; appropriate therapy is water restriction, rather than administration of salt, except in rare instances when the hyponatremia is life threatening. In actual salt depletion, appropriate replacement is the therapy of choice. Hyperuricemia may occur or acute gout may be precipitated in certain patients receiving thiazides.
